How I work on it
Short, focused engagements: I read the code and the infrastructure, talk to the people maintaining them, and write up what I found with recommendations ranked by risk and cost rather than by preference.
Where a decision hinges on something unproven, I build the smallest proof of concept that settles it, and say plainly what it did and did not demonstrate.
The deliverable is a document your team and your stakeholders can both act on — including the option of doing nothing, when that is the right call.
Possible outcome
A decision you can defend, with the trade-offs written down before the budget is committed.
