Asset management on a governed Power Apps layer

The company's asset-management system lived in SharePoint lists on an aging on-premise SharePoint Server. People worked directly against raw lists: clumsy to use, and hard to govern who could see or change what.

I owned the migration to the cloud and designed the Power Apps layer that now sits in front of it, as part of a consultancy engagement.

I migrated the system from SharePoint Server to SharePoint Online, then built a Power Apps application as a controlled layer between users and the underlying lists.

The app gives a cleaner experience than a bare SharePoint list, and, more importantly, it became the place where access is governed. I control the permission flow through the app instead of exposing the lists directly.

Asset management moved off aging on-premise infrastructure to the cloud, users got an interface built for the task instead of a raw list, and access is now controlled through one application layer rather than list-level permissions.
