Legal document management platform on the MERN stack

Legal work produces a constant stream of sensitive documents, and the firm needed a platform to manage them: secure enough for confidential legal information, efficient enough for daily use, and built to scale with the practice.

I led the development of the platform over three years: architecture, security design, APIs, and the frontend legal professionals used every day.

I built the platform on the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express, React, Node) with document storage on AWS S3 and Firebase supporting the application services.

Security carried the most weight: I designed and implemented the authentication and authorization model protecting confidential legal information, and built RESTful APIs with cloud storage integration for reliable document handling and retrieval.

The firm ran its document workflow on a secure, scalable platform with responsive frontend components that legal professionals could use without training, and an API layer that left room to grow.
